Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA)
MCGA is one of the largest grassroots farm organizations in the United States. One of their continuing objectives is to educate the non-farming community about the important role corn plays in our everyday lives. The Twin Cities Road Crew was tasked with finding effective ways to share these messages with the non-farming community.
One of the ways we accomplish this is by providing fun, interactive, themed school assemblies to elementary students throughout the state. We worked with educators to create a script that aligns with MN Educational Standards, while teaching students about corn. We used our unique platform of entertainment and music to customize a game-show-style program that the students are truly excited about. We solicited all of the schools, staffed all of the programs, provided the creative assets and collateral for the activity bags that went home to parents, and we facilitated the programs at each of the schools.
Throughout our partnership with the Minnesota Corn Growers Association we have facilitated over 100 school assembly programs. This has enabled us to share their agriculture message with over 35,000 students, 1,700 teachers, and countless parents.
In addition to the school assemblies, we have brought the MCGA messages to over 35 community events, resulting in thousands of additional people participating in this initiative-driven campaign. Each year we supply a comprehensive recap that includes various data points, list of events, list of schools, people reached, and a video highlighting the overall partnership.
